ITINERARY :
Arrival: Arrive at Paro International Airport. You will be greeted by your guide and driver.
Transfer to Thimphu: Drive to Thimphu (1.5-2 hours), the capital of Bhutan.
Visit Tamchog Lhakhang: On the way, stop by Tamchog Lhakhang, a private temple built by the famous iron bridge builder Thangtong Gyalpo. You’ll also see the traditional iron suspension bridge here.
Lunch: Upon arrival in Thimphu, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang): After lunch, visit the giant Buddha Dordenma statue at Buddha Point, which offers stunning views of the Thimphu Valley.
Optional Meditation & Evening Lecture: For those interested, a meditation session and an evening lecture can be arranged at an additional cost.
Overnight: Stay at your hotel in Thimphu.
Takin Preserve: Start your day with a visit to the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s national animal, the takin, a rare and unique species found only in the eastern Himalayas.
Textile Museum: Learn about Bhutan’s rich textile traditions and weaving techniques at the Textile Museum.
Simply Bhutan Museum: Experience traditional Bhutanese life, culture, and architecture at this interactive museum.
King’s Memorial Chorten: Visit the Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory of the third king of Bhutan. It is a significant religious site where locals come to pray.
Tashichhoedzong: In the afternoon, explore Tashichhoedzong, a fortress and monastery that serves as the government and religious center of Bhutan.
Overnight: Return to your hotel in Thimphu.
Simtokha Dzong: After breakfast, drive back to Paro, stopping en route to visit Simtokha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s oldest fortresses, which now houses a Buddhist school.
Ta Dzong (National Museum): Once in Paro, visit the Ta Dzong, originally a watchtower but now the National Museum, showcasing Bhutanese art, artifacts, and historical relics.
Rinpung Dzong: Explore Rinpung Dzong, a magnificent fortress overlooking the Paro Valley. It is both a monastery and the seat of the district administration.
Overnight: Stay at your hotel in Paro.
Hike to Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest): Early in the morning, embark on a hike to the iconic Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched on the cliffside at 3,120 meters. It is one of Bhutan’s most revered pilgrimage sites.
Lunch: After the hike, enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant with views of the monastery.
Drugyal Dzong: In the afternoon, visit the ruins of Drugyal Dzong, a historical fortress that once repelled Tibetan invasions.
Kyichu Lhakhang: Conclude the day with a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples.
