Outer Layers: Waterproof and windproof jacket (Gore-Tex or similar, for rain and wind protection), Waterproof trekking pants (in case of rain)
Trekking Pants: Lightweight, quick-drying trekking pant, Optional: Leggings or thermal bottoms (for cooler mornings and evenings)
Headwear: Sun hat or cap (for sun protection during the day), Warm hat or beanie (for chilly mornings and evenings, Buff or neck gaiter (for dust, wind, and warmth)
Gloves: Lightweight gloves (optional, for cooler weather)
Footwear: Comfortable, sturdy trekking boots (waterproof, with ankle support), Trekking socks (2-3 pairs, wool or synthetic), Optional: Gaiters (if trekking during a rainy season)
Daypack (20-30L): For carrying essentials like water, snacks, camera, extra clothing, etc. Rain cover for your backpack (important in case of rain)
Sleeping Bag (Optional): The teahouses along the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek provide blankets, but if you prefer your own, a 3-season sleeping bag rated for 0°C to -5°C should be sufficient.
Trekking Poles: Adjustable trekking poles (helpful for uphill climbs and downhill descents)
Water Bottles or Hydration Bladder: 1-2 liters of capacity
Water Purification Tablets or Filter: While bottled water is available in teahouses, it’s better to purify tap or stream water to reduce plastic waste.
Headlamp: With extra batteries (for early morning hikes, especially the sunrise trek to Poon Hill)
Sunglasses: Sunglasses with UV protection (for protection from the sun, especially at higher altitudes)
Personal First Aid Kit: Include basic medications, blister care, antiseptic, band-aids, and any personal medication.
