ITINERARY :
After an exciting flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region, you will start your trek with a gradual descent to the village of Phakding. The path follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and passing through small Sherpa villages. You’ll get a chance to admire the surrounding greenery and the Himalayas in the distance.

Begin the day by crossing the Dudh Koshi River several times via suspension bridges, and pass through villages such as Monjo, where you’ll enter Sagarmatha National Park. The trail gradually climbs to Namche Bazaar, the bustling Sherpa town and trading hub in the Khumbu region. Enjoy your first views of Mt. Everest on the way.
After breakfast in Namche, trek up to the renowned Hotel Everest View, which offers stunning panoramic views of Everest and surrounding peaks. After spending time soaking in the views, descend to Khumjung village, a traditional Sherpa settlement, where you can visit the Hillary School and the famous Khumjung Monastery, known for housing a purported yeti scalp.

This trek offers spectacular views of the Everest range, including Ama Dablam. The path ascends gradually through a rhododendron forest and leads to Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. This is one of the most important monasteries in the Everest region, and you’ll have the opportunity to visit and observe the monks' evening prayers.

The trail descends through forests before crossing the Imja River and gradually climbs to the village of Pangboche, where you can visit the oldest monastery in the region. The route continues upward to Dingboche, which is situated in a picturesque valley surrounded by imposing peaks.

Spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude by taking a short hike to Nagarjun Hill (5,100m/16,732ft) or simply explore Dingboche. This village is an ideal place to rest and enjoy the impressive scenery of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. You can explore the fields and pastures where locals grow crops and experience Sherpa culture.

The trail gradually ascends to Dughla, then climbs steeply up to the Thukla Pass, where there are memorials to climbers who have lost their lives on Everest. Continue on a gradual incline to Lobuche, where you will be surrounded by majestic peaks.

This is a long and strenuous day. The trail follows the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to Gorak Shep, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. After a short rest, you’ll continue on to the iconic Everest Base Camp, where you can admire the views of the Khumbu Icefall and the surrounding peaks. You will then return to Gorak Shep for the night.

An early morning hike to Kala Patthar offers one of the best views of Everest and the surrounding peaks at sunrise. After soaking in the panoramic views, you will descend to Gorak Shep for breakfast and then continue to trek back down to Pheriche, a small village offering more comfortable conditions for rest.

The trail retraces its path back to Namche Bazaar, passing through familiar terrain with dramatic mountain and river views. You’ll enjoy the easier downhill walk and can take time to reflect on the adventure as you descend.

The final day of trekking follows the Dudh Koshi River back to Lukla. You will pass through the same villages you trekked through at the start of the journey, with a celebratory feeling as you arrive back in Lukla.

A short flight will take you back to Kathmandu, where you can relax and reflect on the incredible journey you’ve just completed.
