Trekking Gear (For the Approach to Mera Peak Base Camp):

Clothing:

Base Layers: Moisture-wicking t-shirts (2-3)Thermal base layers (for warmth during cold nights)

Mid Layers: Fleece jacket or sweate,  Lightweight down or synthetic jacket

Outer Layers: Waterproof and windproof jacket (Gore-Tex or similar),  Waterproof trekking pants

Trekking Pants: Lightweight, quick-drying trekking pants, Thermal leggings for higher altitudes and cold nights

Headwear: Warm hat or beanie,Sun hat or cap, Buff or neck gaiter (for wind, cold, and sun protection.  

Gloves: Lightweight inner gloves, Warm insulated gloves for higher altitudes. 

Footwear: Waterproof trekking boots (sturdy and broken in), Wool or synthetic trekking socks (3-4 pairs), Gaiters (for snow or mud)

Daypack: (30-40L for carrying essentials during the day), Rain cover for the backpack

Sleeping Bag: 4-season sleeping bag (rated to -15°C or lower, especially for base camp)

Trekking Poles: Adjustable trekking poles (helpful for steep ascents and descents). 

Water Bottles/Hydration System: 1-2 liters of capacity, Water purification tablets or filter. 

Headlamp: With extra batteries (essential for early morning climbs)

Sunglasses: High UV protection (glacier sunglasses are recommended due to intense sun on snow. 

First Aid Kit: Include blister care, bandages, antiseptic, painkillers, etc.

Snacks & Energy Bars: High-calorie snacks for quick energy boosts. 

Cash: For Excluded bills, and tips as there are no ATMs along the route

Climbing Gear (For Mera Peak Summit Push):

Climbing Boots: Double-layered mountaineering boots (warm and compatible with crampons, rated for 6000m peaks, like La Sportiva G2 SM or Scarpa Phantom 6000), 

Crampons: 12-point mountaineering crampons (designed for steep snow and ice, make sure they fit your boots). 

Harness: Lightweight and comfortable climbing harness with gear loops. 

Helmet: A climbing helmet (to protect from falling ice and rock). 

Ascender (Jumar): Mechanical ascender (for climbing fixed ropes on the summit day). 

Carabiners: 2-3 locking carabiners (for securing to fixed lines and other gear)

Belay Device: An ATC or similar belay/rappel device. 

Prusik Loop: Prusik cord (for emergency climbing and rope systems). 

Glacier Glasses: Sunglasses or glacier glasses with side protection (essential for protection from intense UV exposure on the glacier). 

Gaiters: High-quality, durable gaiters to protect from snow and debris. 

Down Suit or Down Jacket & Pants: A high-quality down suit or down jacket and pants for insulation at high altitudes (above 5000m). 

Climbing Gloves: Thick, insulated climbing gloves (waterproof with a good grip for handling ropes and ice axes).

Miscellaneous:

Sunscreen & Lip Balm: High SPF for protection from the intense sun at high altitudes. 

Power Bank: For charging electronics (as power may not always be available)

Camera/Phone: To capture the stunning views (with waterproof protection)

Sandals or Lightweight Shoes: For wearing around the teahouses or base camp
